The problem we see
Franklin is one of those places where curb appeal matters. From historic homes near downtown to newer houses in Westhaven and Cool Springs, pollen, summer dust, rainy streaks and fall leaf buildup show up quickly on glass, frames and sills. We help keep those homes brighter, cleaner and visibly cared for.
How we approach it
If your roof has dark black streaks running down the shingles, patches of green algae, or moss creeping along the shaded edges, you're looking at more than a cosmetic issue. Those streaks are a living organism called gloeocapsa magma - an algae that feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles - and Middle Tennessee's humidity gives it everything it needs to spread.
What to expect on the day
We clean roofs with soft washing, not pressure. A pressure washer on a roof strips the protective granules off shingles, voids most manufacturer warranties, and can force water up under the shingles. Soft washing uses low pressure - about what comes out of a garden hose - combined with a professional cleaning solution that kills the algae, moss and lichen at the root instead of just blasting the surface.
- Black streaks running down the shingles
- Green algae film on shaded slopes
- Moss or lichen patches, especially near tree cover
